The McCulloch 2827 trimmer is part of the line of trimmers designed to help homeowners control grass and weeds in hard to reach areas of the lawn and landscape. The 28cc gasoline-powered engine on the trimmer features a primer bulb that is used to transfer fuel from the tank into the carburetor to help during cold starting. The primer bulb is pressed several times each time the trimmer is started, resulting in wear over time. Installing a new primer bulb on the McCulloch trimmer will help prevent down time.

1

Place the McCulloch 2827 trimmer on a stable work surface such as a workbench or on a work shop floor. Pull the spark plug wire from the tip of the spark plug for safety while working.

2

Remove the screw from the air filter housing cover with a screwdriver and pull the cover off the air filter housing. Remove the air filter from the housing. Place a small container under the carburetor to catch any gas that might be in the primer fuel line.

3

Grip the sides of the primer bulb bracket, located on the side of the air filter housing, and press in to release the tabs. Pull the bracket and bulb and bracket assembly out from the air filter housing.

4

Pull the primer fuel line from the outlet on the back of the primer bulb assembly. Obtain a replacement primer bulb assembly from a small engine repair shop.

5

Connect the primer fuel line to the outlet on the back of the primer fuel assembly. Snap the primer assembly back onto the side of the air filter housing. Push the assembly firmly in place until the tabs seat properly in the housing.

6

Replace the air filter in the air filter housing, and then attach the housing cover on the housing and secure in place with the screw.

The idle speed on a McCulloch Mac 130 chain saw regulates the amount
of gas flowing into the carburetor when the engine is idling. This
speed, through a small screw, can be adjusted to increase or decrease
the idle speed. By opening and closing a vent on the carburetor, you
can regulate the idle speed. The idle speed needs adjusting if the
chain spins while idling, if the chain saw dies when idling and after
the low speed is set on the carburetor.Difficulty:ModerateInstructions

The McCulloch MAC 110 chain saw was a popular McCulloch model produced
during the 1970s and early 1980s. It was one of the top selling models
McCulloch produced; the fact that so many are still in operation 30
years later suggests that they were extremely durable and well built.
Operating the Mac 110 is very straightforward; learning to operate one
safely and efficiently can be done by following a few standardized
procedures developed by McCulloch. These standardized procedures cover
properly using the entire McCulloch line of small, gasoline-operated
chainsaws.Difficulty:ModerateInstructions Things You'll Need

The starter spring on a McCulloch string trimmer rides on the inside
of the recoil pulley. This spring attaches to the pull rope so when
you withdraw the rope, the spring automatically retracts the rope when
you let go. This spring can be damaged from pulling on the rope too
hard or it can just wear out over time. Regardless, without this
spring working properly, you will not be able to start your McCulloch
string trimmer's engine.Difficulty:Moderately ChallengingInstructions

The primer bulb on a McCullock 3216 chainsaw draws fuel from the tank
into the carburetor when you depress it. When you release the primer
bulb, the excess fuel goes back into the tank. This bulb helps with
cold starts by allowing enough fuel to saturate the carburetor. When
this rubber bulb cracks or has lost its suction with the carburetor,
it won't properly draw gas through the line and you will need to
replace it.Difficulty:ModerateInstructions Things You'll

Infrequently used trapped drains permit water seal evaporation that
allows sewer gas or contaminating odors to escape through the drain.
Trap primers compensate for evaporation by automatically supplying
water to the trap of the drain, while maintaining a water seal in the
trap at all times. BeforePrior to installation, flush the supply
lines clear of dirt and debris that can lodge on the disc and valve
seat. Locate an easily accessible area for servicing to install the
trap primer.
